CONTROL CIRCUIT DESIGN

I design electrical circuits for control panels or the entire machine. Circuits design usually contains; power distribution  (three or single-phase and DC) with conductor sizing and power consumption schedule. Protection devices (motor protection, circuit breakers and safety relays). Push-button and lamps. Contactor switching or relay logic for simple systems. I have embedded many three-phase motors, proportional hydraulic valves, sensors, transducers, actuators.

I have a good knowledge of electronic components and can design elements like voltage dividers, voltage regulators, potentiometer systems, signal converters or signal generators.

INDUSTRIAL COMMUNICATION

My experience covers embedding multi-node CAN communication networks on mobile and stationary systems. That includes inclinometers, encoders, joysticks and radio control systems.

Protocols include CANOpen and j1939.

My industrial communication experience involves PROFINET (fibre and copper) for distributed I/O, drives and HMI's (i.e. IRT for Siemens servo drives) and IFM I/O link. I have a good knowledge of TCP/IP networks and can build industrial IP Camera systems with displays, footage recording and PLC data exchange capability. E.g. process variables displayed and recorded on industrial CCTV screens.

PLC PROGRAMMING

For mobile machinery, I program Danfoss Plus +1 and Exertus controllers. These controllers are based on CAN communication and have multiple I/O capabilities. However, Danfoss controllers use proprietary programming language, and Exertus is functional block programming.

My industrial PLC portfolio is mainly SIEMENS TIA PORTAL for S7 1200 and 1500 PLC's, which include HMI's and  SINAMICS servo or any inverter drive for 3 phase motor. I use ladder programming mainly, but I have used scripted language on one of my projects for automatic movements.

I have also completed a few smaller projects on Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Schneider Zelio controllers.

I have experience in hardware specifying and programming closed-loop PID control systems and have successfully programmed PID's on Danfoss, Exertus and SIEMENS controllers. All involved automatic control of powerful proportional hydraulics. My PID controls systems were for aerospace and mobile plants. I can also program Arduino with scripts written in Python.

COMMISIONING

Commissioning is the stage where all the details become apparent, and safety becomes the priority. But, unfortunately, many times, projects get delayed, which adds even more time pressure. Therefore, I take a structured and planned approach to commission and make sure that nothing happens unplanned, and the machine is safely commissioned, time validated, and personnel trained.

My services portfolio also involves fault finding and repair of existing control systems.
